Jessica Oleksy
My creative strategies are rooted in exploration and research, as demonstrated by my recent trip to the United States-Mexico border, where I aimed to enrich my visual culture studies with personal experiences. While I initially relied on archived landscapes, I sought to engage directly with the environment to inform my artistic choices. The challenges of discomfort and dissatisfaction during the creative process drive my growth as both a person and an artist. I’m eager to enhance my understanding of technology to further influence my art and share my unique perspective on life.

My work embodies the intricate interconnectivity of life, weaving together human, plant, animal, and sacred elements. Through a multifaceted study of ecology, I illuminate the urgent need to address climate change and its impact on our shared existence. I delve into how the human condition fosters disconnection within society, highlighting issues such as racism and discrimination. By examining the boundaries we create, I seek to challenge the divisions that separate us, inviting reflection on our common humanity.
